Apple is today commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a famous quote on the front page of its website that promotes equality.
Paying homage to the legendary civil rights leader is a tradition for Apple, which has become increasingly focused on supporting equal rights and fighting discrimination in recent years.
“Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights,” reads the quote from King, which adorns the Apple.com homepage today. “You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.”
Apple has removed all promotional images of its products from the page to make King’s photo the focus. Apple CEO Tim Cook also paid tribute on Twitter, saying his team honors King by “working to help achieve justice and equality.”

King’s birthday was officially on Sunday, January 15, but it is celebrated in the U.S. with a national holiday on the third Monday of January each year. However, last year was the first time Apple gave its employees a day off for MLK Day.
In previous years, the company has held special gift-matching promotions, donating $50 for every voluntary hour worked by its employees.
