Apple desperately wants the iPad to replace your computer, but it can’t carry out everyday computer tasks as well as some other tablets can. Microsoft highlights that by mocking the iPad Pro’s computer dream in its new Surface Pro 4 ad.

The new ad is obviously a response to Apple’s latest iPad Pro commercial, which looks to remind fans why its latest tablet is also great computer. Microsoft isn’t buying that; it believes the Surface Pro 4 is an even better one.

The software giant’s new ad mocks the iPad Pro’s inability to run desktop apps — like the full versions of Microsoft Office, “not just the app version” — and its lack of Intel Core processor, trackpad, and external ports.

“Just because you call something a computer doesn’t mean it fits the description,” reads Microsoft’s video description on YouTube. Of course, the reality is lots of people have made the iPad their primary computer, and it’s an ideal machine for a lot of tasks.

  1. I can’t see Apple releasing a mock video again, Microsoft just seem bitter in this. Some people don’t want to be force fed Windows 10.

Tablets/iPad are great for most tasks, but cannot replace a PC/iMac.
In the same way, PC cannot compete with tablets (Weight, speed of doing things, usability,..)

Keep them separated (but connected with services) like Apple does, is the best scenario.

Kinda childish imo. What about that nice Christmas ad where both Apple and Microsoft employees stood together?

Have you seen the price of the Surface a decent one is $900. They are small and to me not really worth the money. I can spend far less and get a much better computer especially for running 3D Studio Max!
