Apple Watch nylon bands will make your head spin

Apple Watch nylon bands
They kind of look like Easter eggs, is what we're getting at.

One of Apple’s biggest reveals at its low-key “Let us loop you in” event today was the premiere of a new set of bands for the Apple Watch. And woven nylon was the star of the show.

These colorful, zig-zaggy straps look like they’re the “fun” options for the wearable, like if you’re going to an ’80s throwback party but you still want to know when you get texts. They’re bright, boast “a comfortable, fabric-like feel” (according to the listing on the Apple Store website), and the best news is that they aren’t super-expensive.

Check out all seven varieties below:

Maybe just try not to look directly at them.

You have seven choices for your amazing, Technicolor Apple Watch nylon band. They come in Gold/Red, Gold/Royal Blue, Royal Blue, Pink, Pearl, Scuba Blue, and Black. We think the colored clips that attach the bands to the Apple Watch face are a cool touch, and the pink and blue ones look especially sharp. The weird patterns on the straps make our eyes go kind of funny, but we assume (or just hope) that that’s a trick of photographing patterns like these.

Like the other low-end straps, the Sport band, the woven nylon versions cost the same whether you’re fitting a 38mm or 42mm watch face. And they even cost the same, at $49. The online Apple store is showing that you could have one as soon as Wednesday morning for $18 in shipping. If you take your watch bands after lunch, however, you can just pay $16 for next-day or wait until Thursday for free.

We’re waiting to see them in person before we throw some color into the lineup with our plain black Sport band, but Apple Support told us that it doesn’t currently have an in-store availability date, and they aren’t showing up as eligible for pickup on the order page.

If you want one sooner rather than later, you’d better order soon — ship dates are already slipping into March for some colors.
