This is what a full-screen iPhone 7 could look like

There have been plenty of rumors about Apple creating a bezel-less iPhone, but a new concept by designers DeepMind, in collaboration with SvetApple, may be my favorite yet.

It’s a nifty feature which would keep the iPhone looking like the current model — only with the neat addition of letting users enlarge photos and video right to the edge of their devices.

Check out the video below.

I know that not everyone is a fan of concept videos (I’ll admit that I get annoyed by the ones which make up specs), but this is a pretty great design concept in my opinion. It would certainly be an eye-catching one.

Oh, and yes, I’ll admit that I was initially expecting this to be a sentient iPhone, since it was apparently designed by DeepMind — the AI company Google wolfed down last year for upwards of $400 million. Then I realized it was probably just another company with the same name. Too much confusion for me on a Monday, before I’ve drunk my coffee!

Either way, like the design? Hate it? Whatever your thoughts, leave them below.

Apple won’t do that because the home button distorts some of what’s being displayed behind it. I think it’s more likely that the bezel is shrunken and the home button is taken away if the Touch ID sensor can be encompassed into the display.

It’s a neat concept. I don’t believe they’ll do away with the Home button as we know it. And since you cannot relocate the receiver like you can theoretically relocate the Touch ID sensor, this is unlikely. The side of the unit is too thin to place a home button with Touch ID in it. And users are already used to the idea of the two being mutually exclusive so I don’t think they’ll install a dedicated home button on the side and build the Touch ID into the back of the unit like some think they may do.

As it stands, the iPhone is pretty much engineered to perfection. Not much they can do. They could increase the screen height since some of the space at the top of the display under the receiver is dead space.

Hahaha yeah. That concept is NOT gonna happen. Ever. Concepts like that pop up every year and not once has it actually come to life in the palms of our hands. Apple could only adjust the height. If they even tried to make a screen like the one in the video, it would be impossible to get a case that fully protects the phone. I’m more interested in what iOS 10 will be like. We need way more customization options. My money’s on a feature that will let users change their icons to round like on Apple Watch. Either that or being able to hide native apps. Apple takes things very slowly though so I don’t think these things will happen soon.

They can do away with home button by providing a software area that shows up on the screen using touch and fingerprint scanning can happen using 3d touch when the phone is in locked state

And where are we supposed to hold it! It’s already too easy to push a button you had no intention to push.

I think they’ll probably just get the screen so there’s no black bezel around it and leave the bottom area the same.

This design has no drop “survivability”. Without a good case that screen won’t last beyond one drop.
