The iPad Air 2 may boast a more-than-adequate 2GB of RAM, but the newly announced iPad Pro is living up to its name with a massive 4GB.
In yesterday’s crowded keynote event it was inevitable Apple would fail to mention a few of the geekier spec details for its new devices, and its new giant-size iPad’s RAM was one of them.
Fortunately, Adobe answered the question in a press release — reassuring us that the iPad Pro is going to be every bit the multitasking beast we were hoping for.
As Adobe notes:
“During Apple’s keynote, we … demonstrated the extraordinary speed and precision of Adobe’s Creative Cloud mobile apps on Apple’s new iPad Pro. iPad Pro is great for creative workflows with a high res 12.9-inch touch screen display at 2732 x 2048 pixels, A9X chip, and 4GB RAM.”
Given that the iPhone 6s doubles the RAM of the iPhone 6 to bring it to an impressive 2GB, we wonder if that bodes well for a 4GB iPhone 7 next year?
Whatever the future holds, the iPad Pro is sounding more and more like it’s going to truly be the productivity powerhouse Apple is banking on.
Update: Adobe has since removed references to the iPad Pro’s RAM from its press release.

4GB RAM iPhone is my dream, but its taken them long enough to get to 2GB that is seems unlikely. All the other updates are pretty irrelevant.
No mouse/trackpad support and this thing is terrible for people who type more than a paragraph a day.
Apple thinks Windows 10 isn’t converting Mac users like me. They better think again.
