If – like me – your fridge is black, then these shiny iPhone app fridge magnets from Jailbreak Collective will look very smart indeed displayed on the door.
Just 13 bucks gets you a set of these icon almost-replicas. I say almost because if you look carefully, you’ll see they’re not identical to the Apple originals. [...]

Pictures: Preparations For Apple’s Tablet Launch Event Well Underway

Here’s some pictures I snapped of Apple’s preparations for the iSlablet press event.

The event starts at 10AM on Wednesday January 27th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The Yerba Buena Center is near the Moscone Center –the location for many years of the annual Macworld Expo — and is Steve Jobs’ preferred venue for major product launches.

When I went down there at about 4PM, crews were finishing hanging a large banner over the front of the Arts Center. The banner reflects the splattered paint motif of invites Apple sent out last week inviting journalists to check out the company’s “latest creation.”

The latest creation is, of course, expected to be a new multitouch tablet.

As much as I want an apple tablet I think it would be hilarious if they launched some other new product and everyone went crazy cause they thought they had it pinned..

    …patiently awaiting tablet details :)

I think it’s official name is the iSlabletpad :)

leander, tell steve if they call it the iPAD i’m selling my stock!

If they call it the ipad God help us all. The PC people will have a field day making fun of us.

The iPad name is TERRIBLE. And wayyyyyy to similar to the iPod, there’s no way on earth they will call it that, in my opinion.

I think the iSlate is the most plausible name so far, but Steve has a habit of surprising us all, so who knows.

yeh, iPad, or iTab would be really bad – but quite funny too!

    iBook ftw.

BTW how awesome to be the graphic designer who came up with that invite as see it splashed all over the front of the building. Kudos to whoever it was (is advertising like this handled internally?).

iPad, yes it is called iPad. it won’t be damn cool to go for the iSlate name after the slate lie from Microzoft.

looking forward to see jobs tomorrow introducing the most important thing he has ever done….

It’s going to be called one of these names with i/Mac/or Apple, infront

    Tablet
    Pad
    Slate
    Touch
    Newton
    Book
    let
    One

I would LOL if they pick iTouch, since many people think the real name of the ipod touch is iTouch

Is the keynote going to be televised? Will we be able to watch it online?

You guys must be new Apple fans, there has been an iBook already :p

I was going to say I already have an iBook…and would gladly sell it for the price of the new “iBook/iSlate/iTablet”
