Have you fallen in love with Google+? Do you find yourself checking the social network frequently throughout your day?
There’s a free app in the Mac App Store that let’s you run Google+ from your Mac’s menubar, and it’s called Tab for Google+. With this app, you can easily check and interact with Google+ while doing just about anything on your Mac.
Tab for Google+ isn’t exactly the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen, but it does the job. This is the first menubar app for Google+ we’ve come across, and it lets you do everything you would expect from within your Mac’s menubar.
You can view your streams, photos, circles, profile and notifications. It would be nice if the app had Growl support for notifications, but sadly it does not.
Tab for Google+ is not an official app from Google, and the company that made the app actually displays little ads for its other products in the bottom bar of the app. The ads are unobtrusive, but that may be a deal breaker for some.

I tried this, but stopped using it after I realized that it activates the dedicated graphics card while it’s running (which is all the time).
Kind of a deal breaker if you’re looking to conserve a bit of power out of your MacBook.
I’m using Tab for Google+ on OS Lion, but it needs improvement. Because the Macbook Air takes a few seconds to re-connect to wifi after sleep, the app gives me a page error every time I open it, and it will not refresh on it own unless I tell it to do so.
It sucks! Tab for google+ just doesn’t work. I can’t choose to whom I will publish, I just get a spinning wheel and nothing happens.
Argh! I’ve wanted to try Google + for awhile now. Never fell in love with Facebook really, but wanted some sort of blog-type social network account other than twitter [and I guess disqus]. An INVITE from someone would be nice.

in order to check google+ i use a chain between gmail and “notify app”, the only ting i had to do is to make g+ to send a notification on my gmail, and notify app alerts me on my menu bar about new mails, then i just check whats going on. i use an old leopard mac without posibilities of update, so i cant have any of those fancy new apps.

I have Lion in my MacBook and when i open the TabG+ App. the error message “network error and reload page” appear …. but I have the network connection … I try to uninstall and reinstall the app. but the problem are the same ….
