Microsoft’s My Documents Folder Makes Triumphant Return – On iPad

20100209-mydocuments.jpg

Earlier today, I was reading Infoworld’s article, The iPad questions Apple won’t answer. The first question they listed was “Can you save and transfer documents to the iPad?”, and their assumed answer was “No”; they suggested that the only way to do this would be to open a document from an email message.
I read that [...]

Macworld 2010 opens today. It is the 25th annual gathering of Mac users. That’s right, 25 years!

Opinion: MacBook, or iMac + iPad?

20100208-imacipad.jpg

The announcement of the iPad has done a lot of things: it’s stoked up excitement in the Mac using community, it’s got a bunch of developers feverishly coding exciting new stuff, and it’s got retailers and cell phone companies the world over drooling over the money they can make from it.
And it’s also somewhat upset [...]

In Depth: 30 Days with the Nexus One

It’s been a month since my review of Google’s “SuperPhone”, the Nexus One. Since that time, we’ve surfed, updated facebook, navigated, called, played endless hands of cribbage and even tried to freeze it to death on a trip to Dayton Ohio. Follow me after the jump to find out does the “SuperPhone” stand the [...]

Gallery: Are Apple Halloween Costumes Crapwear?

3593352484_090c4a3aef_b.jpg

‘Tis the season for folks to bust out their best Home Ec skills (or their credit cards) in search of costumery to frighten and delight the young and old alike out trick or treating, or just looking for a few good laughs on Halloween.

Back in 2007, when the iPhone had been out just a few months, we saw a raft of costumes related to Apple’s newest technological wonderment. But so far in the succeeding years, we’ve not seen a whole lot of new takes on the idea and frankly, what we have seen has been pretty lame.

Look at the guy in the picture above. He had to be purposely dressing it down at a party full of Windows aficionados, right? But in the gallery that follows, we’ve had to reach back in time for things better than this. Apple fans seem to have fallen creatively short in recent years.

Is it possible nowadays to dress like a piece of technology known for its elegant design and not look like a complete (and uncomfortable) buffoon?

Let us know what you’ve found out there in comments below, or submit pics of your own awesome Apple-related costume designs and we’ll feature another gallery of the best down the road.

These guys seem to have taken decent images of iPhone screenshots and pasted them onto mock-ups of old Motorola brick phones. One of the coolest things about the iPhone is its sleek, thin enclosure — and these fellows definitely seem to have missed that memo.

Here’s a guy who looks like he might have gotten closer to the mark, though it’s hard to tell, since it’s a front-facing shot. He’s technically not dressed for Halloween, either, but wore this outfit to the NY launch of the iPhone 3G.

This couple looks nice enough, and happy, too. And their costumes admirably incorporate the iPod into the mix. She’s even got nicely finished edging on her groovy pink Nano 3g. But still, there’s just something wrong about the whole get up to this reviewer.

This may be my favorite of the bunch. It’s very Sleeperesque and certain to frighten the little ones all up and down the block. It’s a concern to be left with no arm freedom, though. Someone wearing this could easily be victimized by Apple-hating teenage n’er-do-wells in the neighborhood.

This explains why the human race has only managed evolved 34.5% so far!

What’s up with the insults? It looks like these people went to a lot of time and trouble to come up with something clever and innovative in order to have a little fun. Check these guys out – hopefully they are closer to your demanding standards:
