Tim Cook is going to disappoint a bunch of Apple fans.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are set to take the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium tomorrow, but what Apple fanboys really want today is some new MacBooks.
Cult of Mac polled more than 2,000 readers and found that while 31 percent are most excited about the iPhone 7 Plus with its dual-lens camera, another 31 percent are still eagerly awaiting the arrival of new MacBook Pros.
Which new Apple product are you most excited for?
— Cult of Mac (@cultofmac) August 29, 2016
The smaller iPhone 7 is looking to be a lot less popular than its bigger sibling, pulling in only 21 percent of votes while the Apple Watch 2 came in last with 17 percent.
New MacBook Pros aren’t expected to make an appearance at Apple’s iPhone 7 keynote that may also include new wireless AirPods, Beats headphones, the Apple Watch 2 and iOS 10.

That awkward moment when you waste 5 minutes deciding whether to comment in the Facebook section or Disqus. CultofMac, seriously?
Hey Buster, add “PRO” to the title of the article. Apple released the MacBooks, it’s the MacBook Pros were waiting for. Semantics
But they have to wait for Intel to release the new CPUs, AMD to release the Polaris chips, 10.12 has to ship, and whatever other components new to the product that have to start shipping. So I’m sure we’ll hear something in Oct, and they’ll ship when Intel & Co. ship the components. I don’t think Apple wants to hold back a product announce purposely to piss people off. If Intel hasn’t announced the CPUs they are going to use, then they can’t pre-announce it before Intel. I think they might do a sneak preview just get everyone off of their backs first.
I want world peace, so all refugees can go home, no fighting. I also want equal rights for everybody; color or sexual orientation etc should never matter.
But I guess I am gonna be dispappointed….
But but Apple is peace, Apple is love.
True :-)
I was mostly joking about that a lot of people get their expectations up so high that no matter what, they will end up disappointed.
Yeah well, to be honest I never been an Apple fan, but give credit where credit is due, their product quality is quite high and the “products” work as intended. Usually when a manufacturer adds tons of “features” they don’t work that well and in the end you’ll be even more dissapointed than if they lack those “features”.
can you imagine a brand spanking new 5k 17″ macbook pro? with the thickness of, well, the last macbook; given all the extra real estate Apple could stick in all the latest bells and whistle re processors, DDr etc but I’m pretty sure they could stick in a battery that would last longer than a full day!
I doubt it’s going to happen. Don’t get your hopes up. I expect no announcements in the Mac product line in this event. I expect or am predicting a second event in Oct to address Mac related product announcements.
I don’t think they can put a 17 inch 5K display in that small of a package, and good battery life. The current PC 17 inch laptops are 7.5 lbs, 1inch+ and don’t have great battery life. At least not yet.
And an OS X tablet with the same dimensions as the iPad Pro, but with a much more powerful processor, more RAM, and USB ports!
That might be what YOU want but you sure as hell don’t speak for me or everyone else! How egotistical?
What I want is a new Mac desktop with a gtx1080 ti graphics card, room for sli and a chicklet backlit wireless full size keyboard I.e. Extra keys and number pad.
And why only refer to “Apple FanBOYS’? There are women out here too? FFS
sob sob… i need a new macbook pro to be released……
