Cult of Mac's trade-in program will buy back your old iPad, iPhone, iPod or MacBook. In most cases, we offer more money than EVERY other competitior.

If you just got a new iPad or iPhone and are wondering what to do with your old one, you should think about trading it in.

We recently launched a gadget buyback program that promises to pay more for used and broken Apple devices than Gazelle, Walmart and even Apple itself.

Cult of Mac’s buyback program pays more

As we enter the annual upgrade season, we’ve teamed up with a U.S. recycling company to offer what we believe is the highest-paying buyback program right here at buyback.cultofmac.com.

We are confident that in almost every case, we can offer more cash than big-name trade-in companies like Gazelle, Amazon and Best Buy.

We pay cash for old iPhones, iPads, iPods and MacBooks. We accept both used and broken devices — even dead iPhones that have fallen in the toilet.

We offer higher prices across the board, but we make especially generous offers for products with broken buttons, cracked screens or water damage, which some other buyback programs won’t touch. If you have broken devices lying around, now’s the time to trade them in.

It’s super easy

All you have to do is click on the gadget buyback page and select what kind of device you have. We’ll mail you a box with a return label already attached. As soon as we receive the device from you, we’ll mail out a check. The entire process, from submitting the form online to getting your check in the mail, usually takes about a week.

We’re able to pay for a wide array of products, not just the newest ones in the best condition. We’ll pay for MacBooks from 10 years ago, iPads run over by cars, and iPhones that have been dropped in a puddle.

Our partner: MyPhones Unlimited

To bring you this new service, we teamed up with MyPhones Unlimited, a startup company based in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

With a passion for recycling and keeping e-waste out of landfills, MyPhones Unlimited has none of the overhead of big recycling companies, which spend millions of dollars on advertising every year. These savings are passed directly on to customers in the form of higher buyback prices.

Nothing goes to landfill

Every device purchased is refurbished and resold so it can find a second home. Anything that is beyond repair is recycled. In addition to buying your used gadgets, we’ll also recycle old devices free of charge. Everything sent to MyPhones is resold, refurbished or recycled. Nothing is thrown away to leak toxins into landfills.

Best prices! Gazelle offers way better including everyone else. Cult of Mac operates through a third-party so they have to split the profits and Gazelle is a first-party so margins can be less. Sell your  products elsewhere.

    • @Bendy I’m not sure this reasoning makes sense. Yes, we get affiliate payments from our partners, but Gazelle also offers an affiliate program. See here: https://www.gazelle.com/affiliate-program

And like we say, big companies like Gazelle have a lot more overhead then our partners, MyPhones Unlimited, which is a small (but scrappy) startup.

For example, we offer $235 for a 64GB iPhone 6 on AT&T in “good” condition (which means it has some signs of wear but everything works). Compare that to Gazelle, which offers $225 for the same “good condition” iPhone.

Another example: If you have a 32GB iPhone 5S (on AT&T) with a broken screen, we’ll pay $70 for it. Gazelle offers $60 for the same iPhone. Plus, we’ll pay $30 if it’s non-functioning, and Gazelle pays $20.

  2. Jared Porter says:

I was extremely happy with MyPhones Unlimited’s price and very fast service with the sell of my iPhone 6 (which enabled me to buy the new 6s). I had earlier been a happy customer with Gazelle, but MPU offered me $30 more. What was really impressive to me was the fact that they had sent me a prepared box so I tracked the shipment of my phone to them and it arrived in Arkansas on a Friday morning, and I had a check in my mailbox (in Washington State) the following Monday!!!

These prices are horrible….just ran a iPHone 6+ 128gb You – 330 Gazelle 529!! ITSWORTHMORE.COM has had the best prices consistantly that I have found.

  4. @MNSearcher Thanks for the update. I’ve not heard of Itsworthmore. We’ll have to keep an eye on it.

What’ll they give me for my Newton?

I always wonder what all these trade-in services do with the equipment they receive. Where do they sell it? I usually sell my apple stuff on Amazon but they recently stopped allowing individuals to sell used iphones and maybe more. I was forced to use ebay but the experience is so much worse. Glad to have a few more trade-in options for next time.

Cult of Mac complains when you use an ad blocker. With these other posts, aren’t they already getting advertising dollars? That’s how Daring Fireball makes their money. No intrusive ads, just inline sponsorships. Why can’t Cult of Mac? DF doesn’t complain about running an ad blocker (which, arguably, is necessary with bogus ads serving spyware and malicious apps).
