iBreakup: Jilted ex dumps cheating partner’s Apple collection in the tub

If you’re looking for a picture to illustrate the difference between water-resistant (like the Apple Watch) and waterproof (like no Apple product yet), this one will do perfectly!

The traumatizing photo was posted on Twitter by jilted lover @foolishnessfly2, who decided to get revenge against an ex who had cheated on her by dumping his entire Apple collection in a bathtub full of water.

Needless to say, this is one breakup he’s going to remember. Hope he’s got AppleCare+!

As far as I can make out, the collection includes one iMac, an iPad, two iPhones and a pair of MacBooks. Given that there’s almost certainly permanent damage to the internal components, that’s at least several thousand dollars worth of high-tech goodies gone to waste.

The photo has clearly struck a chord on social media, too. Since first being posted, it’s been retweeted more than 15,000 times.

Apple recently published a patent application aimed at making its iOS products waterproof, using a method for sealing buttons by using interlocking flanges. Maybe someone in Cupertino has suffered a similar trauma in the past!

Fairly certain he could file charges against her for destruction of property but getting her to pay would be another matter.

YEP – Unless they are married thats HIS property. I would have her arrested and then I would post the picture of her in handcuffs being taken away on Facebook.

Eh. If I deceived and cheated on my partner, and then they destroyed some of my favorite things… I wouldn’t be happy, but I would know I wouldn’t have any basis to be upset/angry/demand compensation.

Tbh, I think they’re both awful people, and neither deserve anything good after their stunts.

I wonder….since she did not forcefully enter into his property to gain access to his personal stuff (I think), then it will be hard to judge right? He literally gave her the keys to his home to dump his items in the water. (This is all an assumption that his apple collections was in his home…)

      • Mark Langston says:

Authorized access to someone’s home doesn’t mean you’re authorized to destroy and/or steal what’s inside.

I completely agree with that but there is no law stating that close people can’t break your stuff right? For example, if my younger sister broke my computer, I won’t be suing her for it because this would be a personal problem. Not a legal issue.

Also, he can be considered at fault for not taking his keys back from her.
But since, I don’t know much about how the logic behind the legal system works here (because the justice system is screwed up) I can’t really be confident that he will lose if he does take this to court….

Lets get real right now: At least she did this a few days before this fool got his Apple Watch.

…and one photo he can take with him to court. She will likely remember the breakup for longer.

That’s over $500in damages… depending on state, felony or no?

  5. Wirehedd says:

I can see an iMac, at least 3 Macbooks (2 pros and an Air or 2), 2 or 3 iphones/ipods, an ipad, Time machine router, cables and some bits and such. In my book that’s hitting near the $10k marker. Of course, I’m not the sharpest of visual experts either so I may be wrong but I am pretty sure there’s more than the devices listed in the article.

Oh yeah, I’d have the coppers there in a heartbeat. “See, this is why I was with someone else. That b!tc# is nuts!”

  6. OhStopItYou! says:

if this happened to me, I’d sue her (and I don’t own half as many gadgets as this dude).

  7. ramii says:

I don’t know, i think this looks fake. esp the pic with the iMac. Haven’t seen a tub that deep before & water looks too perfect on it. any other proof?

We seriously need to make this NOT a thing for jilted Women to do. Not ok, not funny. So you had your heart broken, boohoo, we’ve all been there.

  9. abc905 says:

    iMac? Where’s the iMac?

  10. Sam E says:

If none of the devices have battery charge and he lets them dry some of them might still work, but I’m sure he’ll be able to press charges and get his money back.

  11. M Y K E says:

this cracks me up. all the comments are boo-hoo for the dude losing all this Apple gear. the real lesson is DON’T CHEAT ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND. EVER! i say good on this woman – he probably valued his Apple stuff more than he valued her, no wonder she did this.

  12. JewJew Beans says:

I hope the cheater has AppleCare + to cover water damage. Just sayin’
