There’s no doubt that technology like iOS 8’s Continuity feature make it easier to transfer work between your Mac and your iPhone or iPad. However, nothing about Apple’s creation comes close to matching the sheer, unadulterated excellence that is Pushbullet.
Coming freshly off a $1.5 million dose of venture financing, the Pushbullet app is now freely available for Mac, iOS and Safari — providing a better way of transferring files between your devices with a simplicity we could only previously dream of.
All you have to do is install the app on both your mobile and desktop device, link the two together, and — hey presto! — you’ll never have to email yourself attachments again.
Particularly neat is the way that Pushbullet enables users to check out their iOS notifications on their Mac, for easy one-button handling. Using the app, it’s possible to snooze alarms, dismiss social media alerts, and whatever else — with a straightforward way of silencing messages if you so wish.
While there are other apps which offer similar functionality (along with, well, Apple itself), Pushbullet is so far ahead of the competition that you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t download it. After all, it’s free.
Pushbullet for Mac can be downloaded here, and for iOS it can be downloaded here.

The MAC version link is to the iOS version…same links
Mac is not an acronym. One capital letter is enough.
nice to see they ported this to Mac and iOS, it’s a must have on my Android and will be adding it to my Mac now too.
I immediately deleted the apps after they only offered Facebook/Google to login and use. While I used to resort to FB login for convenience, I no longer wish to do so, and prefer programs like this to serve themselves. I know thats easier said than done, but can’t iCloud sync provide that service for them?
