Now you can fight breast cancer — with iTunes

Apple has added a new page to iTunes today in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (also known as October) that allows iTunes customers to donate to City of Hope to support medical research for cancer and other diseases.

All donations will go directly to City of Hope and will be billed to your iTunes account, but Apple’s not sharing your personal information with the City of Hope, so your email receipt will be the only acknowledgement of your good deed.

Donations can be made in increments of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 and $200 to the non-profit charity which also does research and treatment on diabetes, lymphoma, and other deadly diseases. The donation page can be accessed directly from the App Store app for iPhone and iPad, or iTunes on Mac.

Apple has collected donations for charities in the past as well, including the Red Cross as well as relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy, the Japanese tsunami in 2011, the Haiti earthquake in 2010, and others.
