SEATTLE, PAX 2013 – We dropped by the 2K booth today to chat with Jessica, one of the 2K reps in attendance at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) this year in Seattle. She showed off 2K Drive, an upcoming free-to-play racing game very much in the vein of EA’s Real Racing 3, with hyper-realistic, licensed car racing. Here’s a little Vine video of our hands-on time with the game.

The iPad-only racing game allows you to challenge yourself and other opponents from around the world, earning stars and coins which then are used to repair and upgrade your cars, and even purchase new ones. You can create your own RaceFace, putting your face behind the wheel of any of the cars you drive in game. Our own Eli Milchman is pretty freakin’ excited about this game, and it’s looking like it’s shaping up to be pretty great.

The game will have a small up-front cost, says 2K, and all features can be unlocked through racing game play. Of course, interested players will also be able to unlock new cars, tracks, and such with real money through in-app purchase. Stay tuned as we find out more details on when this bad boy will be available on the App Store.
