Apple has issued a statement to AllThingsD saying that, while iOS 5.0.1 did addresses issues regarding poor battery performance for iOS devices, battery life bugs still need to be fixed.
After iPhone 4S owners started heavily complaining about poor battery life on iOS 5.0, Apple issued two developer betas before pushing iOS 5.0.1 to all devices yesterday.
Here’s what Apple had to say about iOS 5.0.1:
“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”
Another iOS update will presumably be made available soon to correct more bugs that have remained present in the latest iOS version.

good to know. i updated and then turned on all the location stuff, etc. to really check it out. seems about the same as before. light usage since 6:30am this morning and i am down to 50%.
They need to fix the proximity sensor issues with iOS 5 on iPhone 4.
Mine has without question improved but they are more than welcome to keep making it better!
The problem of battery in the iPhone 4S is that many people use the brightness at 100% without being necessary. Lower it to 50% and problem solved.
No change for me to be honest
I never Had a battery issue until I updated the software now I never have battery life !!
Gamma testing by Apple
Updated yesterday by OTA via WiFi. After a full days use (5:30 a.m. to present time)- emails, web browsing, using Siri, a couple hours of music, playing games, accessing Maps, etc., my battery is at 70%. Definitely an improvement for me! But, obviously some people are still having problems. Hope Apple can fix it.
Why don’t #apple just accept there is a hardware issue affecting #batterylife on the #iPhone4S n stop pretending they have/can fixed it :-<\
lagging keyboard solve that too
Its currently 8am and I’ve been off charge since 4:30 am yesterday , I’m still at 42%. And I have. It have not updated. That’s with regular daily use. I love apple
Instead of a fixed battery we have got hundreds of people with iphone who can not connect to their network or dropping out of it the whole time, welcome to new SIMGate!

It could be because you live in a bin. Try getting out more, you’ll get more calls.
