Will The Next iPod Touch Come In White?

There’s not much else to go on, but according to 9to5Mac, Asian iPhone repair shops are already hawking replacement front panels for the next iPod Touch… and they’re white.

Otherwise, the new front panel and digitizer doesn’t look much different from the current iPod Touch, but that’s to be expected: the latest data coming out of the iOS SDK has been hinting for a while that the new Touch would be a modest upgrade at best, possibly maxing out at the addition of new dual-core A5 SoCs.

Given how modest the upgrade is likely to be, and how Apple’s iPod line has tended to be offered in a minimum of a choice of white or black, it would make sense for the Touch to go ivory. What would be even cooler was if this were the start of a whole color range of iPod Touches, like with the iPod Nano.

Edit: The inevitability of a forthcoming white iPod Touch is seemingly confirmed by supply checks in Asia.
