Apple TV+ is a premium streaming service that costs $6.99 a month, with a seven-day free trial. You can also get the service via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle. For a limited time, customers who purchase and activate a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch can enjoy three months of Apple TV+ for free.
Launched in November 2019, the service claims to be the first “all-original” streaming service. Initially, expectations were low — few thought Apple could do TV well — but the service claims to have developerd more original shows and won more awards quicker than any other streaming service. By January 2024, Apple’s original series, films and documentaries and had garnered 1,451 award nominations and 299 wins, according to Apple.
Highlights include the breakout hit Ted Lasso, the sci-fi space opera Foundation and Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed Killers of the Flower Moon.
It offers a wide variety of thrillers, crime dramas, documentaries, comedies, and kids shows.
It also offers TK baseball and TK MLS Soccer.
About Apple TV+ Apple TV+ is Cupertino’s biggest new media initiative since the launch of Apple Music in 2015. Everything streamed on Apple TV+ is original to the service, and is produced, commissioned or purchased by the company. To date, it does not feature classic movies or TV reruns.

THRILLER Criminal Record
Criminal Record is an eight-episode crime thriller in which two brilliant detectives clash over a high-profile murder in London. The series stars Academy Award and BAFTA award winner Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Thick of It) and Laurence Olivier Award and Critics Choice Award nominee Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife, The Good Fight, The Beast Must Die). A mysterious phone call sees the two detectives clashing over an old murder case. The younger female detective wants to make her career, while the older investigator is trying to protect his legacy. As well as Capaldi and Jumbo, the Criminal Record is notable for its roster of stellar acting talent. Watch the Criminal Record trailer here.

The Arylic A50+ is a solid way to connect your passive speakers to your Apple devices. No wires needed. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
The Arylic A50+ Wireless Multiroom Stereo Amplifier lets you wirelessly send music to wired speakers from computers and phones. It uses Apple’s AirPlay, which has multiple advantages over Bluetooth, though it offers that too. And DLNA, Spotify Connect and more.
It pumps out 50W*2 with 4Ω passive speakers at 24V, with Sub Out for powered subwoofers.
I tested the capabilities of this digital stereo amp with the help of a friend who’s a bit of an audiophile. Here’s what we found out.
It's a cliche but it's true: the iPhone 15 is Apple's best yet. Photo: Apple
When Apple CEO Tim Cook said the iPhone 15 lineup was “the best and most capable iPhones we’ve ever made,” some people rolled their eyes. But Cook was right, these are the best iPhones Apple’s made to date. With great cameras, long battery life, great screens and beautiful industrial design, the iPhone 15 lineup significantly improves on its predecessors. There are four models in the lineup — the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max — and not a dud among them.
And of course, they’re the first iPhones with a USB-C port — a landmark breakthrough after being tethered to Lightning for years.
The iPhone 15 features significant upgrades in terms of hardware and software. The biggest features of the iPhone 15 and Plus are:
USB-C port, ditching the Lightning port
New design with color-infused back glass
Dynamic Island
48MP Main camera with 2x Telephoto
A16 Bionic chip
SOS and Roadside Assistance via satellite
Available in five new colors: pink, yellow, green, blue, and black
As in previous years, the upper-tier models have advanced features not included in the less-expensive models. The biggest features of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are:
New Action button
Titanium chassis
Periscopic 5x periscope lens (iPhone Pro Max)
New A17 Pro chip
Faster Wi-Fi 6E
More recycled materials in manufacturing
The A17 chip, made using 3-nanometer technology, is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, while the iPhone 15 models have the A16 chip that’s the same in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
All iPhone 15 models feature Dynamic Island and move from Lightning to USB-C, but the iPhone 15 Pro models have an improved USB-C port that offers USB 3 transfer speeds — up to 20x faster than USB 2.
And the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a new periscope lens that enables 5x optical zoom, an improvement over the 3x zoom on the iPhone 14 Pro models.

A convenient ending seems out of place, but that's only because the whole miniseries was so satisfying. Photo: Apple TV+
Apple TV+ period drama The Essex Serpent draws to an orderly close this week after five episodes of disorderly conduct, serpents (both metaphorical and real ones), love, death, betrayal, discovery and friendship.
The miniseries ends on a note that’s a bit of a letdown for how nicely it treats its pack of sinners, but I guess sometimes you have to give “the people” what they want. Ultimately, a great old-school tale of adventure and lust settles for neatness. Though that’s a hair upsetting to me, it was well worth the time it took to get here.

Rosie Perez gets to strut herself as the young version of Detective Flora Neruda this week. Photo: Apple TV+
Now and Then, the delightfully trashy Apple TV+ series about guilty friends committing new crimes to cover up old ones, heads straight into the gutter of desperation this week.
Sofia’s loan is due. Marcos’ wife is leaving him. Pedro’s lover is in jail, and he wants to throw the campaign. Ana is watching her future slip away. Hugo’s still in a coma. And Flora is off the case.
Each will cost you $40 or less. Photo: Elago, Laut, Elkson, SwitchEasy
Bored of looking at the same old Apple Watch on your wrist? Give yours a makeover by adding a brand-new band or bumper case. There are a wide range of awesome Apple Watch accessories available at surprisingly affordable prices.
We’ve rounded up some of the best that are currently priced at $40 or less to help you out. Check out all 15 right here!
This wireless charger works seamlessly with iPhone 12 and 13. Photo: Cult of Mac Deals
The best charger is one you barely notice you’re using. And the Speedy Mag Wireless Charger for iPhone is a super-convenient magnetic battery pack that sticks to the back of your iPhone to refill your battery while you use it.
It’s a lot like Apple’s own MagSafe Battery Pack, but a lot less expensive. For a limited time, the Speedy Mag is on sale for $48.99 (regularly $119).
