Facebook just rolled out a big update to its iOS app in the App Store. Most notably, version 5.2 of Facebook’s app brings the long-awaited “Share” button.

Like Twitter’s ability to retweet, Facebook is now letting users quickly share links and posts on their timeline. You’ve been able to do this on the desktop and Facebook’s mobile website, but now the sharing functionality is integrated in the native Facebook iOS experience.

Today’s update brings a number of other additions, including emoticons in messages and the ability to tag your friends in status updates and comments.

What It’s Like To Have A Beer And Fix A Car With Steve Jobs

By

Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs is filled with a lot of personal anecdotes about what the charismatic Apple co-founder and ex-CEO was like in his personal life… and most of them were not very good at making Jobs look likable or human.

That’s why I was grateful to see this thread pop up on Quora, in which Tim Smith, the principal at the Applied Design Group talks about the time that Steve Jobs, his son and Laurene Powell Jobs tried to fix his car back in the 1990s… along with a mysterious man in a tuxedo who looked eerily like James Bond.

Get Your ePub Bookmarks To Sync Between iOS Devices In iBooks [iOS Tips]

By

iBooks Bookmarks

I have a book I’m reading that I received from a book publisher. It’s an ePub file, which works well with iBooks. Since I love the interface in iBooks, I loaded the file on my iPad 3 and my iPad mini, so I would have it at home on the larger iPad and on the go on the smaller one. Sounds great, right?

I’d hoped to be able to sync my bookmarks, though, so I could bookmark the novel on one device and then pull up the bookmark on the next device I was reading it on. I couldn’t. I spent some time messing about on the internet, trying to figure out how to fix this issue. Apple has the answer, and it’s a lot simpler than I thought.

Tell Siri It’s Your Birthday And She’ll Try To Sing To You [Image]

By

siribirthdaysong

A person’s birthday is the one day of the year where it’s totally ok to gloat as people shower you with their affections throughout the day. It’s the one day where it’s ok to want to feel a little special.

Even Siri wants to make you feel special. If you tell Siri, “It’s my birthday,” she’ll start singing a sprited version of “Happy Birthday” before remembering that, oh crap, that song is copyrighted. Better luck next year.
