Okay Apple! I’ve Gotten My iPhone 5 Case So Where Is The Damn Phone? [Updated]

I went to the local Apple Store today in Friendswood, Texas at the Baybrook Mall to grab something and I came home with another unofficial Apple accessory from a Mall kiosk.

Global Cell, Inc., a cell phone accessory store sitting just outside the Apple Store, sold me an iPhone 5 rubber case for $19.95 plus tax.

They had about a dozen of these generic cases in a variety of colors including the blue one I’m holding here and that glaring limey green one you see floating around the internet on different blogs including Cult of Mac.

Of course I didn’t buy either of these cases in the poke your eyes out colors since blaring colors aren’t my style unless it’s a polo shirt. Instead I settled for a nice black one to go with the rest of my wardrobe accessories. After all a blogger needs to look professional – at least some of the time – right?

All these cases are exactly like the one described in the original story about these cases since it is slightly wider, taller, and about half the height of an iPhone 4.

So is this proof that the iPhone 5 is bigger and thinner than the current iPhone 4? I don’t really know, but one thing I know – if it is real than guess what? I’ve already got an iPhone 5 case for launch day! Don’t hate! Just go get one for yourself. On the other hand if it doesn’t fit then I have a little novelty to show people later.

Okay Apple it looks like I’ve gotten my iPhone 5 case so where is the damn phone? As far as the rest of you goes – do you think I wasted my money or did the case makers? Or both?

Update 09/03/2011 at 6:27 AM PDT: Here is an eBay link showing this particular case selling for $6.95 after searching for “iPhone 5G case. ”
