If you are one of CNN’s 50 million subscribers, you now have access to 24/7 live streaming of the main and Headline News CNN channels on your iPhone and iPad.
CNN has announced that its customers can visit CNN.com for mobile streaming 24/7, and that this same feature has been made available to the CNN for iPad and CNN for iPhone and iPod touch app in the App Store.
“CNN and HLN’s complete 24-hour television networks will be streamed live on CNN.com, the CNN App for iPad and the CNN App for iPhone and iPod touch beginning today, July 18. CNN Worldwide is the first news organization to stream its linear television channels online and on mobile devices to consumers who subscribe to a multi-channel video service. Simultaneous to this launch, CNN.com has debuted its new video experience, which seamlessly integrates live network TV into a larger and higher-quality video player, capable of delivering HD quality.”
4 other streams for news and breaking events will also be available for iOS devices to access at anytime.
Maybe now we can all watch something besides Neflix on our iPads!

BBC news app has done this for ages.
Is available worldwide or just for the US? The BBC is only available for the UK.
The headline is a lie. The ‘streaming’ that’s available is only ONE ‘video’ stream that is at the whim of ‘CNN’ – not the user… AND, there may not be a stream available when you the user want !!
So, CNN is trying to BS their way into the IOS market with this line of garbage…. It’s not even a good try!
Required TV service provider with an existing account. Only works with AT&T U-verse, Comcast, Cox, DISH, and Suddenlink. Does NOT work with DirecTV or Verizon’s FIOS. Fail. :(
Why would I want to watch CNN?
Why?
For selected tv network subscribers ONLY. Fail.
Success or failure?
France24 has an iPad and iPhone app that streams their great news channel live.   Just one of the several other news services that do this.  Â
Well, if you can’t receive FOX in your area.
The usual idea is that you would use NFC to set up the link between the two devices and then do an automatic hand over to a different protocol for doing the actual transfer of data – eg Bluetooth, iphone 5
