Seth Rogen’s hit Hollywood comedy The Studio will return to Apple TV+ for season 2. After the success of the freshman season, Apple TV+ committed Tuesday to making more episodes about the hapless executives of Continental Studios.

Beyond that, it’s a good week for fans of Apple TV+ comedies. The streaming service also announced that the fourth season of Acapulco premieres in July, and the fifth season of Trying is going into production.

The Studio season 2: It’s on!

When you think of Apple TV+, you might think of sci-fi dramas like Severance or Silo, but the service also offers plenty of comedies. Consider The Studio, which is still in its freshman season and has stayed in the top 10 most popular shows for weeks. So it should come as no surprise that Apple approved a second season.

We’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio,” said creators and executive producers Rogen and Evan Goldberg in a press release Tuesday. “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons. And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”

Rogen stars as the new head of Continental Studios, leading a team of infighting executives who must bring narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords together to make successful movies … or at least avoid career-ending catastrophes.

There’s no word on when The Studio season 2 will premiere, but new episodes of season 1 come out every Wednesday.

Hurray for more Acapulco and Trying

In other news about Apple TV+ comedis, the fourth and final season of hit bilingual series Acapulco begins Wednesday, July 23.

“These four seasons have been magical,” said star and executive producer Eugenio Derbez in a press release Tuesday. “Acapulco brought joy and heart to audiences around the world, and while saying goodbye is bittersweet, I’m so proud of what we created. From our incredible cast, writers and directors, to the way we celebrated Mexico’s culture, beauty and warmth — it’s been an unforgettable ride.”

The series follows Máximo Gallardo in two time periods. In 1984, he lands his dream job at Acapulco’s hottest resort, Las Colinas. In the present day, an older Máximo (played by Eugenio Derbez) remains involved with the resort and the many people he met there.

The first three seasons of Acapulco are ready to binge-watch now on Apple TV+.

Looking farther ahead than July, Apple TV+ gave a nod to Trying season 5. Previous seasons of the feel-good comedy followed a couple struggling to get pregnant, choosing to adopt instead, then dealing with being parents. In the upcoming season, the children’s biological mother turns up and brings chaos.

The series earned a 95% critics approval rating on the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.

You can stream the previous four seasons of Trying now on Apple TV+.
