Popular indie farming simulator Stardew Valley is finally making the leap to iPhone and iPad.
The game has proven a smash hit on Mac and PC, selling over 400,000 copies during its first two weeks of availability, and has been well-received on console, with glowing review scores on Metacritic. You’ll be able to play it on iOS later this month.
Stardew Valley puts players in charge of a dilapidated old farm inherited from the main character’s grandfather. They must clean it up before planting crops of their own, raising livestock, and earning revenue to expand, while building relationships with other characters.
The casual, calming gameplay, inspired by Harvest Moon, has helped make Stardew Valley incredibly successful. And it transfers well to mobile devices, as Stardew Valley on the Nintendo Switch has demonstrated perfectly.
Now the game is finally coming to iOS.
Stardew Valley hits iPhone and iPad this month
Fans will be able to download the game, which is being developed by London-based studio The Secret Police, on their iPhone and iPad starting October 24.
Developer Eric Barone says the game will be exactly the same on mobile. “It’s the full game, not a cut-down version, and plays almost identically to all other versions,” he explains in a blog post. “The main difference is that it has been rebuilt for touchscreen gameplay on iOS.”
Because it’s the same game, players can transfer their save data from PC to the iOS version via iTunes. However, Barone warns that mods are not supported in the iOS version, so any saves made it modded games may have incompatibility issues.

Stardew Valley will be priced at $7.99 on iOS and you can preorder it today from the App Store. An Android version will also be available “soon.”
