Spotify iOS App Updated With Artist Biographies, Bug Fixes

By

Spotify iPhone artist

Spotify has updated its iOS app with the ability to view artist biographies and images. The new artist view will be displayed when you tap on an artist’s name for a currently playing track. There’s a cover image you can tap to view the full biography. This feature has been available on the desktop for some time.

Here’s the release notes from Spotify’s developers:

Hello, it’s us again. Here’s what we’ve been doing…

• New: Look, there are images and artist biographies in the artist view.
• Fixed: No more pesky crashes when you skip in radio.
• Fictitious: This app is reverse-engineered using alien technology.

Spotify’s app is free to download, but you’ll need a monthly Premium subscription to use the service. There’s a Pandora-like radio feature available for free with ads.

Too bad they continue to ignore the bug where the app won’t empty the cache, causing it to take up many gigs of storage on the device. http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-iOS-iPhone-iPad-iPod-Touch/Clear-Cache-Button-Needed/m-p/336774#M14324
