The line has sparked off a debate about whether personality is really defined by playlist.

For sure, music helps predict compatibility. Hints about someone’s personality comes out in a playlist. But, there’s so much posing out there (meaning, the ipod owner might never even play his or her entire playlist but compiles it because it’s cool to show off), the playlist does not tell the whole personality story.
In my world, when two people appreciate music the same amount (versus like the same songs), they have a higher likelihood of compatibility. I believe in this so strongly I created a business around it called A Sound Match.
