The new Italian i’mWatch describes itself as a “technological jewel” – it is currently the closest you’ll get to having an iPhone on your wrist, and it’s by far the coolest wristwatch I’ve ever seen. Featuring a high-resolution touchscreen, the i’mWatch lets you receive calls, text messages, notifications from Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, and so much more.
Browsing through the list of its plethora of features makes you wonder whether you would ever need to take your iPhone out of your pocket:
- Receive calls and see you caller’s name and number
- Make calls using the keypad or your iPhone’s address book
- Receive text messages and emails
- See the weather forecast for your city
- See your Facebook news feed
- Receive notifications from Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare
- Download music from the i’music store
- Listen to the radio
- Download apps from the i’m store
- View your iPhone’s photo collection, arranged by album
- View stock market data
- Receive notifications for Calendar appointments and reminders
You have to agree that’s a pretty staggering list of features for a wristwatch – and with its own version of the App Store, that list is sure to grow. There’s already an impressive list of applications that will be available when the i’mWatch launches, including Skype, Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter – and developers can create their own.
The i’mWatch will be available from September and there with be five variations of the device to choose from – yellow gold, pink gold, white gold & diamonds, black gold, and titanium. However, a watch with a list of features this long – and made from these materials – is sure to come with a pretty hefty price tag.
The titanium model is the cheapest at 599€, the most expensive is the white gold & diamonds model at 14,999€, and the other three are priced at 11,999€. For an extra 2,000€ you can also have your name engraved onto it.
While the i’mWatch is expensive, you have to admire its design and functionality. It’s clearly a luxury device aimed at the rich, but you can’t deny you want one.

What’s a €? /troll
This almost seems like vaporware to me. There is zero technical description that I can see. Is it running a facebook app of its own, and then pulling data through the phone via tethering or is something else happening?
It uses bluetooth probably
What is unclear is does it connect TO the iPhone, via bluetooth or something, or is it a standalone device. They picture it on the website WITH an iPhone, which makes one think that it is a remote device to work in sync with the iPhone. Does anyone know?
€ = Euro (the currency)
i’m digging it but i’m not completely sold. If it’s remote and syncs, right on!
If not, the last thing I need is another fooking device with content and data to manage….
It is a nice concept as an app to use via a nano!
HMK
sigh…I just wanna have the dough to buy it!
fake, fake, fake
Currently, $1.00 USD = € 0.692604 EUR
With just a little knowledge of horology you’d realize that it’s not easily the coolest watch ever.
I would love it to be true (I always secretly hankered after a spot watch) but I don’t believe it exists-or will in close to this form. All the app icons shown are Apple-designed, as is much of the interface.
Good luck typing a number on that keyboard, too
I think it will be unbelievably cool. Except I have a feeling the battery life will be pretty poor. Other than that it seems it would ben a sweet little gadget
Killian, shouldn’t you mention that it doesn’t exist yet and probably never will? It’s called vaporware. It’s not April 1st anymore and Cult of Mac should either be more careful about what it reports or stop selling “ad” posts to vaporware companies trying to rip people off.
Joseph, thanks for your comment. The story clearly states that the watch won’t be available until September. It’s our job to look out for interesting press releases and inform our readers of upcoming products that might be of interest to them – these are not “ads” and neither do we get paid to write a story from a press release.
I hope this clarifies things for you.
Killian
it’s something I would want.. if the tech side is in order with decent battery life and good quality phone functions and Android 2.3 OS
I appreciate your clarification about my “ad” post accusation. It is hard to tell sometimes given all the product endorsements on Cult of Mac. But my point about the vaporware stands. The website linked to is shows nothing other than illustrated mock ups using icons stolen straight from the iPhone yet is asking people to pay up to 3000 dollars for a preorder. Reading the descriptions of it on the website It’s pretty obvious it will never ship.
Hmmmmm ….sorry to burst your bubble guys, but it is really more like an Android for your wrist than an iPhone for your wrist ….no wonder it is the coolest watch ever :-)
and it doesnt actually mention here that its ANDROID powered..
Definitely runs on its own version of Android, so yeah, it’s like having an android phone on your wrist. And even if you know a thing or two about horology, this is still potentially the coolest watch around. I respect a well crafted mechanical timepiece, no doubt. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on them and own many, but if this thing actually ships in October like it’s supposed to, the black one will become the best watch I own by far.
