A Chinese gadget maker of dubious distinction, vowing to directly clone a popular, in-demand Apple product? Is this even real life????
Of course it is, and that means that we can always count on the nth-tier electronic makers of the Far East to directly clone the looks but none of the experience of Apple’s most popular products.
In this case, it’s Chinese electronics maker Huadian, who is now promising to copy the iPad 2 with all the crappy hardware and garish ineptitude they can muster. Outside, it’ll look pretty much exactly like an iPad 2. Inside, though, they’ll be using an 800MHz AMLogic CPU, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of flash memory and presumably any old rusty spoons, bottle caps and stray wires they have lying about.
Expect this craplet to hit the side stalls of Shenzhen sometime next month.

Hum! What OS will they be running? Android I presume?
I don’t even think it will meet CE and FCC standards…most of those products just have their circuits burn at first use
There’s a couple typos in this article. The manufacturer is actually based in Korea, and trades under the name of ‘Samsung Electronics’.
