Apple has quietly increased the price of its AppleCare+ warranty plan for Apple Watch Series 4.

It will cost $79 to cover the company’s latest wearable — $30 more than AppleCare+ for an Apple Watch Series 3. However, buyers now have the option to pay for the service monthly.

Apple Watch Series 4 is Apple’s most advanced smartwatch yet. It’s packed with a larger display, faster processors, new sensors, and an all-ceramic back. It’s also the first device of its kind to deliver on-demand electrocardiograms (ECG).

If your Series 4 breaks or suffers a fault, then, it could cost a lot more to get it fixed. Apple has updated the price of its AppleCare+ protection plan for Series 4 to reflect that.

AppleCare+ for the Series 4 still covers buyers for two years from the date of purchase, but it now costs $79. If you don’t want to pay the full amount upfront, you can now pay for it monthly at a cost of $3.99 a month for 24 months.

Despite the $30 increase, AppleCare+ is still a worthwhile purchase. Not only will it ensure you get support for two years, but it also covers two instances of accidental damage.

That means if your Apple Watch breaks because of something you did — not just because it’s faulty — Apple will still repair it. You’ll have to pay a $69 deductible each time, but that’s still a lot less than you’ll pay for a repair without AppleCare+.

What’s more, AppleCare+ gets you faster service, mail-in repairs, global coverage, and more.

AppleCare+ for Apple Watch Series 4 is available to purchase today. Simply add it to your basket when preordering your new Watch from Apple.com.
