Just in time for consumers looking for an early Christmas present: Apple has cut $100 off the price of the original iPad. This means you can grab a refurbished 64GB Wi-Fi or 32GB Wi-Fi+3G tablet for just $399.
It’s not clear how long the price change will be active, as the new prices come with a “Special Limited Price Time.” Although its not as if Apple has had trouble selling the devices, recent reports indicate the tech giant may be preparing to introduce the iPad 3 in early 2012. Also, Apple may be feeling some pressure from Amazon’s new Kindle Fire, a $199 tablet the online retailer hopes could loosen grip on tablet sales held currently by the Cupertino, Calif. company.
The Apple Certified Refurbished iPads come with a 1-year warranty, new battery and outer shell.

$419 in Canada!
Dropping the price on a refurbished iPad is in no way the same thing as “Apple Drops Price on Original iPad.”
Refurbished is not the same as new, and refurbished deals vary day to day, week to week, and item to item sometimes.
It’s a first generation.
why do we Canadians always end up paying more!!!
Come to Europe and see how much will you pay.
For first generation a bit high….no?
Is the iPad 1 being sold as new anywhere?
Okay. Then the refurbished ones are as close to new as one can get. Plus, the refurbished ones have a one year warranty.
If Apple is now selling the refurbished iPad 1 for a lower price, “Apple Drops Price on Original iPad.” is an accurate statement.
FYI: 6 months ago, I paid $350 for a refurbshed first-generation 16GB iPad from Apple’s online store.
Better yet, come to Brazil… :-(
