If you’re like me, Amazon Prime Day is partly about scoring cool stuff you otherwise find uncomfortably pricey. I can’t go around buying every set of headphones and earbuds that catch my eye. But with Prime Day headphones deals, maybe I can sneak something sweet-sounding past my sense of guilt, you know?
And so can you! Check out some of the absolute best Amazon Prime Days deals on headphones and earbuds below. I found wishlist-worthy cans and buds with savings of $100 or more (in some cases, much more — even discounts of $305 off primo open-back cans, $315 off top noise-canceling headphones and $150 off some seriously nice earbuds).

Sennheiser Consumer Audio HD 660S2 Wired Stereo Headphones

Photo: David Snow/Cult of Mac
Headphones like these are why some audiophiles prefer wired, even as Bluetooth headphones get better and better. I use these beautiful open-back, wired cans with my iPhone or iPad through a digital headphone amp — not required for many or even most cans — to get the most out of the 300Ohm impedance (read more about that here). That’s especially important to register some sub bass. Read more about my experience with these cans.
If you want to try a “serious” pair of headphones, these are a good place to start, and now’s the time. The Prime Day Deal on these is a fantastic $305 off, or 45% — $679.95 $374.95. A nice alternative for a little less would be the well-regarded Sennheiser HD650 headphones for $343.80, or 41% off.
These wired audiophile stereo headphones offer deep sub bass, optimized surround sound, transducer airflow, vented magnet system and voice coil.
- Great sound
- Wide sound stage
- Comfortable fit
- Somewhat expensive
- Proprietary Sennheiser connectors (other cables won't work)

Beats Studio Pro headphones

Beats Studio Pro are a go-to set of quality cans in my house. I use them wirelessly with all my Apple gear. Sometimes I plug them in. They come with AUX audio cable and with a USB-C cable that offers lossless audio. I also take these to the gym, mainly because the optional wired connection is more reliable than what I get with some of my earbuds wirelessly. They’re great for use with Android devices, too.
While not the lowest price ever, you can nab these for a relatively affordable $349.99 $169.95, or $180 off (51%) in eight colors, including some Kim Kardashian earthtones.
Beats' flagship over-ear headphones feature personalized Spatial Audio, USB-C lossless audio and up to 40 hours of battery life.
- Lossless wired audio capability
- Apple and Android compatibility
- Available in multiple colors
- Lacks ear-detection sensors
- No Apple H1 or H2 chip

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Over-Ear Wireless Headphones

Here’s a pair that I would dearly love to own. B&W is a venerable British brand with a great reputation spanning from decades ago through some of today’s best headphones. These get top marks for sound quality and comfort, with occasional criticism for durability and the app experience.
The deals on these vary by color. The list price is $699, but you can get the dark forest color for $385.11 ($314 off!), royal burgundy for $430.22 and either black or tan for $439. PX7 S2e is an excellent alternative for less, with a couple color options under $300.
The tops cans from B&W feature superlative sound, advanced active noise cancellation, 30-hour battery life and 15-minute quick charging.
- Highly rated for quality sound
- Advanced ANC
- Quick charging
- Some find durability lacking
- App experience can be frustrating

Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Earbuds

Photo: Sony
Sony enjoys a solid reputation for its noise-canceling headphones and earbuds, often inserting “The Best” in the product name — really for the whole package, but especially for outstanding noise cancellation. And who can argue? These buds put out great sound, fantastic noise cancellation and fine comfort.
Sony will probably come along soon with the XM6 version of these buds, like it did with its XM6 over-ear cans recently (though the near-legendary XM4 cans are still fantastic, and marked down $155 to $193, a 45% savings). But for now, earbuds-wise, score the XM5 for $299.99 $198, a savings of $101 (34%).
Sony's top noise-cancelling earbuds are made from recycled plastic materials. In addition to top active noise canceling (ANC), they feature clear Bluetooth signal and adaptive sound control with artificial intelligence.
- Among the strongest buds for noise cancellation
- Excellent audio quality
- AI-assisted adaptive sound control
- A new version may come out soon

JBL Tour Pro 2 True Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds

Photo: JBL
I don’t happen to own any JBL products at the moment, but the company’s good reputation precedes it. And when a pair of noise-canceling earbuds with more-or-less up-to-date specs comes in at 60% off, I sit up and take notice. These noise-cancelers feature a smart charging case with an information screen and function controls. So you don’t have to rely on your smartphone or even the JBL app to play tunes and tweak settings.
These buds come with a smart charging case, 6-mic calling with voice control, up to 40 hours of playtime and JBL's Immersive Spatial Sound.
- Smart charging case with controls and screen
- Spatial audio
