iOS 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak Released

By

Capture

Just 4 days after iOS 4.3.2 was released, redsn0w has been updated. It was initially said that iOS 4.3.2 fixed @i0n1c‘s untether exploit, but was later said that it did not patch his vulnerability. Today, redsn0w was updated to 0.9.6RC14 for both Mac OS X and Windows. Stefan Esser (aka @i0n1c) needed to slightly update his untether exploit. No, this update doesn’t support the iPad 2. More information and download links after the break!

Below is a list of supported devices:

  • iPhone 3GS (old + new bootrom)
  • iPhone 4 (GSM)
  • iPod Touch 3G (non-8GB model)
  • iPod Touch 4G
  • iPad 1G

Download: Mac OS X | Windows

You’ll need a copy of the iOS 4.3.2 IPSW file, which can be downloaded here: https://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

Happy jailbreaking!

    …just forget about the ipad2 …..huh

  2. randall says:

Pretty new to jailbreaking, though I’ve done it successfully to my iPhone 4 on 4.3.1, if I update then re-jailbreak, I’ll have to re-install my tweaks/packages right?

  3. besweeet says:

What Caius said. I highly recommend restoring to 4.3.2 instead of updating, as it’ll lessen any potential compatibility issues or installation problems afterwards. You’ll be installing everything over again, so you might as well restore instead.

  4. randall says:

iPhone 4 JB is currently unavailable! Users beware.

  5. Stev says:

Hi, for iPhone 4 GSM does the bootrom matter to be able to untether Jailbreak it?

  6. besweeet says:

Nope, that doesn’t matter at all.

  7. besweeet says:

Everything for 4.3.2 worked fine on your iPhone 4? That’s good, because a number of people are supposedly reporting problems, while another good number of people are reporting success.

  8. randall says:

Actually, yes and no. It worked, I downloaded a tweak, then first re-spring and I got stuck with boot screen/Apple logo.
After about 10 minutes I just went to DFU mode and restored from 4.3.2 and am without the JB now.
I’ve read a few people have successfully kept it, but mostly despair for us iPhone 4’s :/

  9. besweeet says:

Yeah, it’s weird. The Dev Team hasn’t pointed out what the problem is. Some people are reporting perfect success (even after installing tweaks), while some aren’t.

    What did you install?

  10. randall says:

Yea, even on their blog many people are sharing stories of having to go through DFU/restore. I suppose I can wait another day or so.

I only installed Covert and that was all she wrote.

  11. AlterThending says:

I got stuck on the apple twice and had to restore on iPhone 4 i’ll just wait I see that it said Update: No untethered for iPhone 4 until the bug is fixed. I’m gonna wait.

  12. Really? says:

Mac OS X Download link is not working. And when I went to the Dev Team’s Blog, heres what I saw:

iPhone4 users please wait for a pending fix

    What gives?

  13. besweeet says:

    Fixed now.

  14. besweeet says:
