One of the most reliable Apple analysts in the game is predicting big things for the iPhone X design in 2018.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will release an iPhone X Plus next year with the biggest smartphone screen the company has ever made.
In his latest note to investors, Kuo says Apple will release three iPhones in 2018 with a notch design. There will supposedly be a 5.8-inch and a 6.5-inch model, both with OLED displays. The third iPhone will supposedly have a 6.1-inch LCD display but come with the same bezel-free design as the iPhone X.
The 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus will have a display with 480 to 500 pixels per inch, possibly making it more pixel dense than the iPhone X. The 6.1-inch LCD version will only have a display with 320 to 330 PPI.
While Kuo wouldn’t make any price estimates on the iPhone X Plus, he did weigh in on the 6.1-inch 2018 iPhone, saying Apple will make it in an attempt to target lower and middle market customers.
“The primary selling points of the TFT-LCD model may be the innovative user experience of an integrated full-screen design and 3D sensing with a lower price tag (we expect it will likely be US$649-749),” writes Kuo in the email obtained by MacRumors.
Next year’s new iPhone models will likely be in much higher supply than the iPhone X has been since launch. Kuo estimates that Apple’s manufacturing machine won’t have a problem churning out units on time after fine-tuning the iPhone X production process.
