While Aaron Sorkin’s screenplay for the upcoming Steve Jobs movie has received a lot of attention, actor Michael Stuhlbarg says the rehearsal process was just as crazy as the script.
Stuhlbarg — who plays Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original engineers on the Macintosh team — revealed in a recent interview that instead of shooting one scene at a time, the cast would rehearse an entire act for two weeks, film it, then start rehearsing the next act for two weeks.
“The Steve Jobs rehearsal process was unlike anything I’ve ever done to this point and probably unlike anything I’ll ever do again,” says Stuhlbarg. The actor also dished on what it was like working with Jeff Daniels on the film, as well as how Sorkin was constantly refining and retooling the script during rehearsals.

The upcoming movie, directed by Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire), is divided into three acts, all of which revolve around an Apple keynote.
The hours and hours spent rehearsing each scene is pretty interesting, especially considering how much time Steve Jobs and the Apple team would spend rehearsing each keynote.
Steve Jobs is scheduled for wide release October 9, but you can catch it early at the New York Film Festival, where it will screen October 3.
