Apple’s partnership with IBM has birthed eight new enterprise apps that the companies announced today on Apple’s Business apps page. The new MobileFirst apps focus mostly on healthcare by providing hospital techs and nurses new methods to access patients records, log data and track progress.
Along with the four new healthcare apps, IBM and Apple also created apps for insurance agents, flight attendants, retailers and industrial production.
Take a quick tour of the new apps below.
Rapid Handover
The Rapid Handover app for iPad is designed for industrial production, providing an easy-to-use interface that documents and shares information with incoming shift members. Users get glanceable data on everything from production goals to equipment maintenance and crew lists. You can also use the iPad camera to capture images of broken equipment and other problems.
Ancillary Sale
Flight attendants now have the power to offer fliers upgrades on seats, food and beverages, and duty-free merchandise with the Ancillary Sale app for iPhone. The app recalls passengers’ previous purchases and makes recommendations on the fly. Passengers can complete transactions with Apple Pay or credit card.
Order Commit
Order Commit for iPad makes it easier for retailers to plan perfect product assortment orders. Merchants get access to metrics on financial targets and sell-through so they can keep track of sales whether they’re on the road or in the shop.
Risk Inspect
Risk Inspect makes insurance inspections more accurate and reduces the need for costly repeat inspections. Inspectors can capture photos and video with the iPad’s camera to record accidents. There’s also an intelligent analytics feature that suggests risk areas to focus on.
Hospital RN
With Hospital RN for iPhone, staffers are given the ability to access patient records from anywhere in the hospital. The app uses iBeacons to identify patients by location, giving nurses easy access to records so they spend less time chasing info and more time caring for patients.
Hospital Lead
Hospital Lead for iPad will keep nursing teams organized better than ever by sending Push notifications to assigned staff members for tasks. The intuitive dashboard also combines multiple hospital databases into a single view, which makes complex actions like patient discharges easy.
Hospital Tech
The Hospital Tech app for iPhone keeps nurse technicians closely connected to their care teams, so patient tasks are handled quickly and safely. Users get access to real-time lab status views, safety alerts, patient requests and delegated tasks, bringing the hospital care team’s data together seamlessly.
Home RN
This new app will help at-home nurses deliver hospital-quality care. The app makes it easier for nurses to add pictures, text and audio notes to patients’ records to keep track of progress.
