In case you didn’t know, today is apparently “Steve Jobs Day” in the state of California. Governor Jerry Brown recently tweeted that today, October 16, is now known as Steve Jobs Day. The golden state celebrates Jobs’ legacy.
A great way to take part in the new holiday would be to tune into the Discovery channel tonight to watch the Mythbusters special, “iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World.”
Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will host a one-hour special on Mythbusters dedicated to Steve Jobs. Both men have been heavily influenced by Jobs and his products.
“Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men,” Savage said. “Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn’t simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives.”
The documentary airs on Discovery today at 5 p.m. Pacific and 8 p.m. Eastern.

Wasn’t that impressed by the show. It told us everything we already knew about Jobs, and left out a lot of the meat in favor of an hour long, high level look at his life. It was produced for the public at large who didn’t know Steve’s history as well as most of us do. Reading his biography next week is going to be a lot more fulfilling for me than this was.
