You Can Delete Incriminating Calls In iOS 5

Got an incriminating call from that doxy your wife told you to stop fooling around with? In iOS 5, you can just delete the record of that call, no jailbreak required.

Although deleting record of received or made calls has been pretty trivial with a jailbreak, Apple’s decided to enable to functionality in the call log of the first iOS 5 beta.

Will it stay this way? Who knows, but it’s nice to know that if you want to keep your call history secret, you now only have to worry about beating your significant other to the bill without your iPhone itself giving you away.

wonder what innovations apple would have done by now if jailbreak community was not around to give Apple ideas…

Are you telling me that deleting a call from you call log, was not possible before? (I don’t own an iPhone) That’s just basic personal safety!! :-)

I have some Apple Developer UDID registration spots left for purchase if
anyone is interested, you could then give iOS 5 a try.

Why we have to delete the history call? Except you have some thing to hide.
Oh! Do you want to keep your secret call from your wife? Just Kidding.

Which is ultimately more pathetic: that there are some people who actually need this, or that I not a single woman I ever had a relationship with ever even gave this a single worry?

Uh, you could do this in iOS4. I can do this on my iPhone already. Phone -> Recent -> Clear. This wiped all your calls.
If you mean this lets you delete *individual* calls, that’s new.

again, how is this not already a feature for iPhones… just don’t get it sometimes with Apple. Why does it take 4-5 years to develop a feature that flip phones had over 10 years ago.  (….coming from a diehard apple user too)

How about a parental control setting for call deletion. I have kids and I want to see who are they talking to for how long and when. So Apple either take that thing back to where it was or give us the option to enable disable call deletion. lets say disable clear all as well if I have set it up in parental control settings. Sounds nice.. right.. and as Steve always said “And we believe in Options !, so we have this and Users can choose that as well if they want to”. So give us the option to be able to setup the parental controls to look after our children.
