Check out this Kickstarter project — it’s a really smart clear polycarbonate iPad 2 case (called the iLoqk — hey, we’ve heard worse) that comes with a removable clamp that doubles as a tripod mount, which is yours for a pledge of $40. An extra $20 will bag you the XShot, an extending arm that attaches to the tripod mount and comes with a wireless shutter release for the iPad’s camera. It’s a pretty nifty idea, and seems like it’d helpful in all sorts of situations.

Why?
I mean, the iPad has one of the shittiest cameras ever.
I have to concur that this is a not-very-well-thought out product. The only compelling feature is the remote shutter release and, with such a bad camera, who cares?
$80 to hold a VGA camera at the end of a 3ft stick? This product is way worse than the shitty name leads on.
How about a magnetic sheet that attached to the iPad so you could put your head underneath like a plate camera? And an ap that turns the picture upside down and reverses it so you could pretend to be Ansel Adams? It could limit the number of shots you get and have the locations of the Yellowstone pictures programmed in by GPS.
