With eight states running sales tax holidays in coming weeks, Apple specified on Wednesday which of its products will qualify for tax-exempt status and in which states. The sale dates vary depending on the state, with the tax waiver helping consumers potentially save hundreds of dollars on Macs, iPads and Apple accessories.

Save on sales tax on your Apple purchase
Certain states hold a tax-free sale every year for a few days, waiving the tax they charge on eligible product price. There are certain restrictions, though, including the total bill amount and what items you can buy. Like the sales tax rate, this varies from state to state.
Alabama is the first state to host the sales tax-free shopping from July 19 to 21. Eligible Apple products include Macs, iPads, printers and software under $750. Accessories are also eligible but only if purchased with a computer. Tennessee will hold the sales tax holiday sale from July 26 to 28, with the tax exemption applicable for products up to $1,500.
Florida will runs its sales tax-free holiday for the longest duration, from July 29 to August 11. Like Tennessee, the bill must be $1,500 or less for the purchase to qualify. You can enjoy tax-free shopping either in-store or online.
These states will hold tax-free shopping sale
You can purchase eligible Apple products without paying sales tax in the following states:
- Alabama: July 19 through 21
- Arkansas: August 3 and 4
- Florida: July 29 through August 11
- Massachusetts: August 10 and 11
- Missouri: August 2 through 4
- Ohio: July 30 through August 8
- Tennessee: July 26 through 28
- West Virginia: August 2 through 5
Arkansas is the only state without a sales price limit. So, you can buy an iPhone, iPad Pro, Mac Pro or even the Vision Pro without paying any sales tax, potentially saving hundreds of dollars.
