In the wake of Elon Musk posting his support for an antisemitic comment on X, Apple reportedly paused advertising on the social-networking service that Musk owns.

Disney, IBM and Lionsgate have also supposedly stopped advertising on the service formerly known as Twitter.

Apple pulls back from X (formerly Twitter) ads

Musk, who also runs Tesla and SpaceX, has made no secret of his political leanings with X posts like, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.” His controversial opinions have kept many advertisers away from X since the entrepreneur bought the company in early 2022. But Apple has stayed a supporter, regularly buying ads and promoting its products and events.

But the iPhone-maker has now paused such advertising, Axios reported on Friday. The move comes as Musk set off yet another controversy by endorsing a comment widely seen as antisemitic.

The original post made on Wednesday said, “Jewish communties have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.” And Musk’s reply was, “You have said the actual truth.”

Apple is not alone. IBM also pulled its adverting from X on Friday after a report showed the company’s ads next to pro-Nazi posts notes The Washington Post. Disney, a close Apple partner, followed in its footsteps shortly after. The movie studios Lionsgate also suspended advertising with the social networking service, according to Reuters.
