Sure, this is mustache-less Ted Lasso from a 2022 holiday animated short, but the coach looks pretty worried his gifts won't get to Kansas by Christmas.

If you’re planning on giving the gift of Apple gear to someone this holiday season, you better follow holiday shipping guidelines Apple posted on Thursday.

That way you can make sure your presents get to where they’re going by December 24, just in time for Christmas.

Apple gives guidance online for shipping ‘holidays gifts, just in time’

Apple’s new holiday shipping guide notes shipping deadlines for gifts sent to the United States and other countries. Amazingly, for most products going to the U.S. you can order as late as December 21 for delivery by December 24, Apple said.

And last-minute shoppers shouldn’t give up hope. As the iPhone maker notes all over the place in the guide, “If the ‘Order By’ date has passed, you can still shop online for in-stock items with Apple Pickup or 2-hour delivery from your local Apple Store.”

Engraving adds a couple days

While many products can ship as late as December 21 for delivery before Christmas, any item you want to have engraved adds a couple of days (so order by December 19). In some cases, it takes longer, as with AirTag 1- and 4-packs, which need to be ordered by December 12 if engraved (December 21 otherwise).

In other cheery holiday news, Apple also extended its return policy so that anyone who purchased products between November 3 and December 25 can return items through January 8, 2024. And some countries have a longer window.

Also take note that Apple’s dates may shift as the holiday season progresses, depending on product supply and other possible constraints, so check back on the guide.
