Any fan of old-school song-and-dance numbers has a lot to look forward to this Yuletide season, judging by the trailer Apple TV+ dropped Wednesday for its upcoming special, Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas.

The big, star-studded show debuts November 22, along with a companion album on all music streaming platforms, Apple said.

So it’s not just a Christmas concert featuring Waddingham, a musical theater vet who stars at AFC Richmond club owner Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ hit comedy Ted Lasso. Plenty of other musical talent joins her on the show, which features a soundtrack release, as well.

As Apple notes:

Recorded live at The Coliseum in London, one of London’s oldest and most beautiful theaters, the one-hour special will feature Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham ringing in the season with musical performances of beloved Christmas classics.

Special guests galore

Special guests Sam Ryder, Luke Evans, Leslie Odom Jr., Phil Dunster (that’s soccer phenom Jamie Tartt on Ted Lasso) and others join Waddingham on stage. And other performers include the English National Opera, the London Gay Men’s Chorus, The Fabulous Lounge Swingers and an 18-piece band.

“Along the way, Hannah shares her personal journey to this magical moment with anecdotes and memories about her own holiday experiences,” the streaming service added. As you might rightfully guess, Waddingham’s really into Christmas. And she’ll probably get you into the proper spirit, as well.

Single’s already out

While the soundtrack comes to streaming platforms November 22 via Platoon, Waddingham’s performance of “What Christmas Means To Me” is available as a single now, Apple said.

Waddingham, Katy Mullan, Moira Ross, Raj Kapoor and Nick Todisco executive produce the show, collaborating with Done + Dusted. Those are the folks behind Beauty & The Beast: A 30th Celebration, John Legend’s A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy, The Little Mermaid Live!, London Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, as well as Apple’s hit Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special.

Waddinham’s holiday special is directed by BAFTA Award winner Hamish Hamilton, featured on the Oscars, Grammys, Super Bowl halftime show, and London Olympics opening and closing ceremonies.
