Still Up is about the hijinks of a pair of chronic insomniacs who aren’t aware they’re falling in love. Apple TV+ released the trailer Tuesday showing Danny and Lisa’s struggles to sleep and find someone who understands them.

The romantic comedy series will debut on Apple TV+ in a few weeks.

Young insomniacs falling in love in Still Up

It didn’t escape Apple’s attention that comedies are a pillar of TV programming. Its streaming service has quite a few, with Ted Lasso, Mythic Quest and Bad Sisters standing out as some of the best.

Add Still Up to that list. Apple says it “is an almost romantic comedy set in the after-hours world of insomniacs Danny and Lisa who have no secrets except their feelings for each other.”

The trailer shows the two struggling with their inability to sleep, but also to date, as they live lives regular people can’t understand.

It stars Craig Roberts (Red Oaks, Submarine) and Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor, Small Axe, Lovesick) as the sleepless lead characters. They’ll be joined by Blake Harrison, Lois Chimimba, Luke Fetherston and Rich Fulcher.

The series was co-created and written by Steven Burge (Seekers) and Natalie Walter. Bryce Hart (Ten Percent) also writes on the show. It is directed by BAFTA Award nominee John Addis (Lucky Break).

Premiering this fall

Still Up is scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 22, with the first three episodes. These will be followed weekly by one episode every Friday.
