Good news for live-music lovers rang out Tuesday. Apple said new concert-discovery features it just added to Apple Maps and Apple Music will help music fans and artists connect in major cultural hubs worldwide.
New Apple Maps and Apple Music concert-discovery features
What’s new on Apple Maps
On Apple Maps, more than 40 new Apple Music Guides detail the best live-music venues in cities known as cultural hubs. In other words, you can browse concerts in Maps kind of like you might look for restaurants.
Curated by Apple Music editors, the guides highlight the best concert venues, “from landmark Viennese symphony halls to cutting-edge techno clubs in Brooklyn and Tokyo,” Apple said.
The guides let fans use Shazam’s concert-discovery module to browse venues’ upcoming shows. The module is part of a suite of features Shazam introduced recently. The features use concert information from event platform Bandsintown.
Apple Music Guides begin rolling out Tuesday on Maps at apple.co/MusicVenues. The hand-picked selections span across 14 cities.
