Cable Matters unveiled a foldable 4K USB-C hub Tuesday for hybrid workers to use on the road or in a home office.

“The Cable Matters Foldable USB-C Multiport Adapter with HDMI & USB Power Delivery (PD) converts a single USB-C port into a multimedia powerhouse, all in a small and ultra-portable form factor,” the company said.

The compact new hub features an HDMI port that supports up to a 4K 60Hz resolution and refresh rate. It also sports a 10Gbps USB-C port with 100W pass-through charging, a 10Gbps USB-A port and a USB 2.0 port for peripherals.

One aspect that adds to the Foldable USB-C Multiport Adapter’s portability and keeps its form factor minimal is its slim and foldable pigtail adapter that connects to a host computer. It lets the hub’s pigtail cable fold up into the hub, reducing cable clutter.

New technology

The hub uses Parade Technologies’ latest single-chip PS188 USB-C with PD, HDMI2.0 and USB3.2 10G Hub integration.

While many Cable Matters products sell on Amazon, this one doesn’t appear to be there yet.
