2023 MacBook Pro packs more power than its predecessor
Apple announced the 2023 MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips at the beginning of the year. Rumors suggested these laptops would debut in October last year. However, their launch was delayed due to supply chain issues.
Apple gave its MacBook Pro lineup a massive overhaul in 2021, and the 2023 models only build on that. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros retain the same design as their predecessor with no visible changes.
They pack three key upgrades, with the first being the switch to a faster M2 Pro chip. This new SoC claims to provide 20% faster performance in multithread tasks and can compile Xcode up to 25% faster than M1 Pro.
The two other notable changes include Wi-Fi 6E support and an HDMI 2.1 port. This allows the 2023 MacBook Pros to drive external monitors with up to 8K resolution. Apple also claims a slight battery life improvement, with the new models offering an hour more of video playback.
Save $150 on the M2 Pro 2023 MacBook Pro
With a $150 discount, you can get the 2023 14-inch MacBook Pro for $1,849 instead of $1,999. The 1TB version is available with a similar deal, so you need to pay $2,349 instead of $2,499.
Do note that the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro ships with a slower M2 Pro chip featuring a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU. If you want the more powerful version of this chip, consider getting the 1TB model, as it ships with a 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU.
You can get a similar $150 discount on the M2 Pro-powered 16-inch MacBook Pro from Amazon. The best deal is on the M2 Max MacBook Pro, though. Amazon has discounted it by $300 to $3,199 from $3,499. This is a great deal that you should not miss, especially since this is the lowest price the machine has ever dropped to.
