PlayStudios launched a Rewards Store Friday for the classic puzzle game Tetris. The program will let millions of mobile players earn rewards, including a free one-month subscription to Apple TV+.
Of course, this comes “just in time for the premiere of Apple Original Film Tetris, now streaming globally on Apple TV+.”

A month of Apple TV+ for free is just one reward Tetris players can stack up on PlayStudios’ new PlayAwards loyalty platform. It’s similar to others the outfit runs for various free mobile games.
“For the first time in the iconic puzzle game’s nearly 40-year history, mobile players will be able to earn in-game loyalty points for playing Tetris. Which can be redeemed for real-life rewards from a global collection of iconic entertainment, hospitality, leisure, and other brands,” PlayerStudios said.

More buzz for the movie
The launch goes along with the debut of Apple Original Films’ Tetris. It’s a thriller based on the true story of a Dutch video game designer, Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton). His stumbling upon Tetris in 1988, as its Soviet-engineer inventor tried to find a buyer, led to the game taking off. But not without a struggle with the Soviet regime and battles in court.
After premiering at the 2023 SXSW Festival, Tetris is streaming on Apple TV+ as of Friday.
To celebrate the rewards store’s launch, PlayStudios offers a limited-time, one-month trial subscription for Apple TV+. So Tetris mobile players can watch the movie for free if they build up the points for it.
“Tetris mobile players can earn in-game playAwards loyalty points by completing levels, hitting daily goals, and reaching milestones within the game,” PlayStudios said. “They can then unlock rewards such as a one-month subscription to Apple TV+ by using those points.”
