Apple TV+’s star-studded limited series Extrapolations is set in a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into everyone’s everyday lives.

The trailer for the series gives a dark look at what the end of the century could look like.

Extrapolations shows the human effects of climate change

We’re in the early stages of climate change, but scientists are predicting the sea level to rise up to 6.5 feet by the end of the century, displacing millions of people. Droughts are expected to become more severe even as hurricanes get stronger and more damaging.

The upcoming Apple TV+ series Extrapolations puts a human face on the problem. “Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population,” according to Apple.

The trailer gives a first look at the series:

The ensemble cast will be well supplied with celebrities, including Meryl Streep, Kit Harington, Edward Norton, David Schwimmer, Forest Whitaker, Tobey Maguire, Heather Graham, Gemma Chan, Sienna Miller, Michael Gandolfini and Judd Hirsch.

Extrapolations will premiere on March 17, and there are eight episodes in the limited series. Watching comes with a $6.99-per-month subscription to Apple TV+, a streaming service that can be watched on a wide variety of devices, from Roku to iPhone.
