Apple TV+ is set to premiere Shape Island, a stop-motion animation series for children and families that illustrates friendship can take many shapes.
The show debuts on Apple’s streaming service in mid-January.
Have fun learning on Shape Island
The Apple TV+ show is based on the internationally bestselling Shapes trilogy of books by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, who also co-created the TV series.
Here’s how Apple describes Shape Island:
This clever, funny and inspiring new stop-motion animated series from Apple TV+ takes place on a charming island and invites viewers to join serious Square, intrepid Circle and tricky Triangle on their silly adventures as they dig up some fun, search for answers and build on their friendship — all while learning how to navigate each other’s differences. “Shape Island” shows kids that friendship can take many shapes.
Shape Island premieres globally on January 20 on Apple TV+.
More kids’ shows on Apple TV+
The series joins a growing catalog of children’s programming on Apple’s streaming video service. That includes The Snoopy Show, Doug Unplugs and the recent reboot of Fraggle Rock. There’s also the Emmy-winning Ghostwriter and Helpsters series from Sesame Workshop, Wolfboy and the Everything Factory from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the Peabody-winning series Stillwater and many more.
And, of course, the streaming service serves up plenty of content for adults, too. The ever-expanding lineup includes award-winning thrillers, comedies, sci-fi, documentaries and more. Watching any of these comes with a $6.99-a-month Apple TV+ subscription.
