iPhones and iPads offer plenty of valuable features, but with the right accessories, you can turn them into bonafide educational tools. For example, this Wi-Fi microscope adds a new dimension to your iOS devices and Macs, turning them into a fun way to explore the world in miniature for $55.95 (regularly $69).

Use your iOS device for science!

Made of black ABS plastic and weighing less than 8 ounces, this compact microscope can go just about anywhere to satisfy your curiosity and provide a new perspective on homework assignments.

The microscope uses a CMOS sensor offering a magnification range between 50x and 1,000x. It connects to iOS devices via Wi-Fi at up to 33 feet. So, your kids can wander and explore while you share in their wonder.

Wired, you can connect it to laptops, desktops and external displays to scrutinize documents, check materials and equipment, or enhance homework assignments with custom photography. (It comes with a micro-USB cable to connect to external devices.)

Images are captured at 1,920 x 1,080 to produce sharp shots of your specimens. The included metal tripod lets you produce sharp, stable shots. And, since this microscope connects to your device and has onboard photo, video and file storage, it simplifies documenting everything you inspect.

Eight LED lights built around the microscope’s lens let you control brightness so you can get the perfect shot every time. It all runs on a battery that lasts three hours, for plenty of fun with science.
