AirVersa’s new Purelle Smart Air Purifier for HomeKit came out on Amazon in the U.S. on Saturday. According to the company, it’s the first air purifier to support the Thread networking standard.

That Thread support will be important when the Matter home automation standard starts helping devices made by different makers work well together.

New AirVersa Purelle Smart Air Purifier has HomeKit and Thread networking support

AirVersa said using a Thread-enabled border router — a HomePod mini or a 2021 Apple TV 4K — lets you control the Purelle purifier with your iOS devices and Siri commands, “anytime, anywhere.”

In the scenario above, you don’t need a hub. You can tell Siri to turn the device on or off, change the fan speed or tell you the air quality the device measures. And AirVersa’s Sleekpoint app lets you have all sorts of control.

And when you use the Purelle, you can expect clean air in the room. The purifier’s 3-Stage True HEPA Filtration system removes 99.97% of airborne contaminants down to 0.3 microns, the company said. The purifier should clean the air of a 500-square-foot room in about half an hour.

You can pick up the AirVersa Purelle Smart Air Purifier for $189.99 at Amazon. But you can lower that price a bit by clicking the box for a 5% off coupon before you add the item to your cart.
