The switch to gallium nitride continues to lead to less bulky but more powerful charging accessories. As their names indicate, the HyperJuice 245W GaN Desktop Charger and 245W USB-C Battery Pack can each supply 245 watts of power, but GaN means they aren’t oversized.

Both launched Monday.

Gallium nitride for the win

Anyone who’s used a MacBook charger knows silicon-based chargers are bulky. The move to GaN allows chargers to be smaller, lighter and more power efficient than the old ones were.

A wide range of companies have jumped on the GaN bandwagon, including Apple. And Sanho’s Hyper division, too.

Hyper’s new desktop charger has four USB-C ports, each of which can put out 100W – though not at the same time. Two can be used to output 100W each, or all four can supply 60W each.

That’s ideal for Apple’s laptops, as the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air top out at 60W, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro can take in 96W. And, of course, the desktop charger can also replenish iPads and iPhones.

All this power comes in a package that’s 4.1 inches by 3.9 in. by 1.25 in, and 1.3 pounds.

With a price of $199, the HyperJuice 245W GaN Desktop Charger is available now on Hyper’s website.

To take power on the go, there’s Hyper’s just launched external battery pack. It can store 27000mAh/100Wh, and output that through four USB-C ports. Again, it’s clearly designed with MacBooks in mind as there are two 100W and two 65W ports.

It can take in 100W, allowing the battery itself to recharge in as little as an hour.

The HyperJuice power bank includes an illuminated OLED screen that displays the remaining battery capacity and power output of each port.

It’s 7.5 in. by 3.2 in. 1.1 in and 1.7 lb. That’s not exactly small, but it is impressive for an external battery that can fully recharge a 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro two times… and do it quickly.

At a price of $249.99, the HyperJuice 245W USB-C Battery Pack can be purchased now on Hyper’s website.
